Frers 33 National Championships The 3rd annual Frers 33 Nationals sailed at Sail Newport on July 11-13th delivered everything it promised. Tight racing, less waiting, and lots of camaraderie. Day one brought very foggy conditions, and only enough breeze to get in one race. 2002 National champs Windswept got off to a slow start with a first day fourth, with Eclipse in First, Wolverine in second, and Wild Thing in third. Day two brought lumpy seas, 20+ knot winds, and #3 blades. Survival was the call of the day! Two seconds and a first for Windswept, one first for Wolverine, and one first for Eclipse tightened up the numbers. Day three brought moderate wind, and a great finale. Eclipse and Windswept dueled it out in the final race, the final leg. Windswept pulled ahead and finished first to hold onto their national title. Eclipse was second, and Wolverine finished third. Thank you all for making it such a successful event! See you next year. Regards, Kurt
